WebLogic Server Setup

  • Install WebLogic server
    1. Download the WebLogic server from http://www.oracle.com/downloads
    2. Run the installation
    3. Specify the Middleware Home Directory, press Next
    4. Unselect I wish to receive updates checkbox, press Next
    5. Choose Typical, press Next
    6. Accept the default settings and continue the installation


  • Register Domain
    1. Run the wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config
    2. Select Create a new WebLogic domain, press Next
    3. Select Generate a domain, press Next
    4. Specify the domain name and location, press Next
    5. Specify the administrator name and and password, press Next
    6. Select the JDK, press Next
    7. Select Administration Server
    8. Specify the port name, press Next
    9. press Create
    10. press Done

WebLogic Support

  • Register WebLogic Server
    1. Select Window|Services from the main menu
    2. Right->Click the Servers node and select Add Server...
    3. Under Server select Oracle WebLogic Server, Press Next
    4. Browse to the WebLogic server installation directory, Press Next
    5. For the Local Instance select the registered domain DefaultServer [localhost:7001]'
    6. Specify username and password
    7. Press Finish
    8. EXPECTED RESULT: Check that Oracle WebLogic Server node appears under the Servers


  • Start WebLogic Server
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select Start
    2. EXPECTED RESULT: The server should start without errors
  • View Admin Console
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select View Admin Console
    2. EXPECTED RESULT: The admin console should open in the browser with proper port number


  • Stop WebLogic Server
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select Stop
    2. EXPECTED RESULT: The server should stop


  • Start WebLogic Server in Debug Mode
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select Start in Debug Mode
    2. Create Web Application
    3. Deploy the Web Application
    4. EXPECTED RESULT: The server should start without errors
  • Start WebLogic Server in Profile Mode
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select Start in Profile Mode
    2. Create Web Application
    3. Deploy the Web Application

  • Remove WebLogic Server node
    1. Right->Click Window|Services|Oracle WebLogic Server and select Remove

    1. Create Web Application, select Oracle WebLogic Server for server
    2. Deploy the Web Application
    3. EXPECTED RESULT: The Web Application should be under the Oracle WebLogic Server->Applications->Web Applications node
  • Open In Browser
    1. Right->Click on the Oracle WebLogic Server->Applications->Web Applications-> WebApplication and select Open in Browser
    2. EXPECTED RESULT: The Web Application should be opened in browser


  • Stop
    1. Right->Click on the Oracle WebLogic Server->Applications->Web Applications-> WebApplication and select Stop
    2. Refresh the browser
