Spring 3 doesn't contain aopalliance.jar which is required for injecting EntityManager via the Spring Framework. To fix the problem you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Download the aopalliance JAR and add the library to the classpath.
    You can try downloading the JAR from the following locations:
