Note: NetBeans IDE 7.0 and newer packages will not be officially supported in Ubuntu repositories anymore. Use the regular NetBeans installers instead.

Installing NetBeans 6.9 on Ubuntu depends on whether you choose to do that by using traditional installer or using Ubuntu native packages. A few following instructions describe both options in details using particular version of NetBeans IDE, as the example.
