New nb.org bugs processing

The document describes how we will process issues reported against new netbeans.org. The issues might be fixed in web content that is owned by netbeans or must be resolved in kenai infrastructure that is developed and maintained by Lea's team. We use Bugzilla for reporting bugs because its's more nature for netbeans.org users and also reporting bugs in JIRA require additional account that isn't compatible with netbeans.org. Users report bugs into www/Admin component in bugzilla.

Bug Processing

  • Users create new issue for defect or RFE in www/Admin component
  • The issue is evaluated by NetBeans web team (Petr Blaha, Jan Pirek or Petr Chytil). In case the issue must be resolved in kenai they will mark issue with 'KENAI' status whiteboard and assign issue to leawang. These issues must be further evaluated by kenai team.
  • Kenai team must evaluate issues in next five working days after re-assignment and add a comment when the issue will be resolved at netbeans.org and also describe potential risk of regressions.
  • Netbeans team will approve/disapprove the above change based on the risk of regressions that will be summarize in issues.
