Tasks after NetBeans 6.0 - Web & Java EE team
- Fix tests, make them all run (see next item for how we track this).
- Write new tests where they are lacking ( here is the overall tests status on Nov 6, 2007). We will evaluate this again on Dec 4.
- Fix more P3s ( here is the status on Nov 8, 2007).
- Restructure code, refactor, clean up, eliminate code duplication
- Fix build warnings - initial status here. We will evaluate again on Dec 4.
- Stabilize APIs
- Write statistics for UI gestures
- Run FindBugs on all the code and fix the warnings. Start using FindBugs regularly. Track progress here.
- Get into the habit of reading commit logs and reviewing other people's code.
- Update specifications so they are up to date with the current state of the IDE. Track progress here.
- Review the FAQs. Track progress here.
- Submit session and BOF proposals for JavaOne 2008 - track them here.
- Test the IDE, play with it, file bugs. Write about your experience here.
- Look at all the other IDEs and see where they are better (and where we are better). Write about it here.
- Play with new and emerging technologies and frameworks, see what's happening elsewhere. Write about them here.
- Write some realistic web apps using the IDE and observe what you like and don't like, file bugs. Write about it here.
- Post a user survey about the IDE or particular areas. See this page.
