How can I import projects from other IDEs?

Project importers are available for Eclipse and JBuilder IDEs. (See for example EclipseToNetBeans.) If you use another IDE you can still open the sources easily in NetBeans in case you are using ant for building your project.

There is an import guide available for importing Java SE projects into NetBeans.

If you are using Maven to build your project, NetBeans IDE 6.7 and newer provides integrated support for Maven projects and you can open projects directly. If you are using an 6.0, 6.1 or 6.5, you need to install the Maven plugin via the Plugins manager. For more information, see MavenBestPractices.

If you are using a proprietary build system we suggest you to create a new project in NetBeans and copy the sources from your IDE into the new project directory. If your project requires any build setup you will need to set up the build proces manually.
