How do I start and stop the deployment server?

Deployment servers are separate processes that can execute the applications that you develop in NetBeans Visual Web Pack. They are shown in the Runtime window under the Servers node.

To start a deployment server, right-click on its node and select Start.

When a deployment server is not running, the contextual menu may take several seconds to display.

To start the bundled Tomcat application server from outside the IDE:

  1. Navigate to the directory <NetBeans_Dir>/enterprise3/apache-tomcat-5.5.17/bin
  2. Execute the command startup.bat (or startup.sh).

To stop the bundled Tomcat application server from outside the IDE, execute the command shutdown.bat (or shutdown.sh) from the same directory.
