1. Open the Services window, expand the Databases node and select the jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/travel node, right click and select Connect from the context menu.
  2. If the Connect dialog opens, in the password field unless already filled in,   enter 'travel' and click OK.
  3. In the NetBeans main menu, choose File > Open File.
  4. Browse to and browse to the installation directory and choose visualweb2/startup/samples/create-schema-Travel.sql, then click Open.
  5. Make sure the Java DB connection for Travel is selected in the dropdown above the editor then click the small green arrow in the editing toolbar to create and populate the tables in the Travel database.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 using visualweb2/startup/samples/create-Travel-Derby.sql
  7. Expand the node for the travel database connection to view the tables.


Also, if the userdir folder ($HOME/.netbeans/6.1) is deleted then the sample database and connection will be recreated.

If you don't want the sample database to be created then delete from the database folder $HOME/.netbeans-derby/travel and the Java DB Travel connection
