Software Developers (NetBeans team)


Java Tools organization in Oracle is looking for several Software Development Engineers who will be developing new features and improving various qualities of the NetBeans IDE, primarily in the Client-Side Web Technologies area. Java Tools organization is responsible for development of a large Java/Swing based desktop application (NetBeans IDE). NetBeans IDE represents an integrated development environment for Java developers and its main priority is to provide support for the latest version of Java platform, Web standards and other technologies.


SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, WEB TECHNOLOGIES

SCOPE

  • Job based in Prague, Czech Republic
  • Develop new features and improve existing features of the software
  • Responsible for all phases of the product development cycle, including planning, feature development, writing unit tests, bugfixing and interaction with end users

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan new features according to customer input and product direction
  • Develop new features for the product
  • Automate unit tests using test frameworks
  • Work towards improving quality, performance and usability of the product

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent programming skills, at least three years programming in Java, C# or JavaScript
  • Very good English in both written and spoken form
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and apply new knowledge quickly
  • Deep comprehension of importance of teamwork

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Experience with client side browser technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Extensive experience with large-scale Web or Java architectures
  • Experience with IDE or tools
  • Experience with server-side development using Java EE, Java web frameworks
  • Good knowledge of Swing
  • Exposure to software development methodologies
