NetBeans 6.7 Performance Goals
General performance criteria
- UI responsiveness: 90% of UI responsiveness tests pass (compared to 85% for 6.5)
- Startup: no regression against 6.5
- Memory consumption: max 10% increase
Specific goals
- 10% cold startup improvement (all setups) due to resource cache optimization.
- 20% decrease of overall consumption of system resources for users downloading full edition and using only limited functionality (via FitnessForever).
(System resources: permanent memory, consumed heap, CPU cycles during and after start, etc. Limited functionality: only J2SE, or only PHP, or only Ruby.)
- Go to File with same speed as Go to Type navigation.
- 2 times faster Find Usages (in average).
