OpenDS LDAP Browser Plugin for Netbeans

Introduction


As an Open Source Plugin module to Netbeans can add a Cap of Star “Not only GlassFish, Tomcat, Application Server, Now we can connect to LDAPv3 Server”. The LDAP Browser Plugin not only permits to read and display the tree of your LDAP Server but also allows you to modify it by creating, editing or removing entries. Searching the DIT has been widely made easier with the plugin's powerful search wizard, as well as its ability to record a search, saving you a lot of time for your future works. The results of a search are presented in a table, that enables you to edit the attributes in a spreadsheet-like manner. The plugin allows you to import data to the DIT from an LDIF. Further data could be exported to LDIF files. To edit the LDIF files so-called LDIF editor does have Code templates and mechanism for auto completion of attribute types and colored segments for visibility. With this new editor specific syntaxes and attribute types could be added by using the Netbeans extension mechanism. One example is the ACI Editor, Bookmarks, DSML import/export support, CSV import/export support as extended features.

New LDIF file can be created easily as shown below and can be edited in the Netbeans editor. The Syntax Highlighting part is in progress. More screenshots will uploaded soon. File:NB7_LDIFEditor.jpg
