For release in June 2010.
During the NetBeans 6.8 release the performance team had grown up to include every user of the NetBeans IDE. The success of such enlargement motivated us to continue along this path while working on NetBeans 6.9. That is why it is our pleasure to welcome all OSGi users into the team!
NetBeans 6.9 release concentrated on significantly improving the NetBeans Platform. One of the ground breaking features is the first class support for co-existence with OSGi bundles. Reusing OSGi gives the NetBeans Platform users chance to rely on standard UI toolkit while using standard modularity. The NetBeans performance team strongly supported this effort and after months of debugging, profiling and optimizing delivered Netbinox, the fastest OSGi container for building modular desktop applications.
