Overview

Since release 8 of the RPM packages distributed for Fedora the NetBeans IDE relies on the special Update Center (UC) - NetBeans for Fedora.

Details

• The NetBeans for Fedora UC is created as a development response to the Bug #466179.
• The NetBeans for Fedora UC won't contain any updates to the software installed on the Fedora platform via RPM.
• The NetBeans for Fedora UC is registered as a standard update center that is enabled by default.
• The "traditional" standard UC - NetBeans is disabled by default in the IDE.

Implementation Notices

This feature of the RPM packages is implemented as a patch - netbeans-6.1-70-updatecenters.patch
