Fedora/How To/Install NetBeans IDE

Fedora - How_To - How to install the NetBeans IDE?

There are several ways to get the NetBeans IDE installed on Fedora:

  • via a Package Manager tool - these ways rely on the Linux native packages (RPMs) prepared for a Fedora release:
  • via a NetBeans installer
    • NetBeans installer for Linux TODO How to...
    • platform-independent NetBeans installer How to...
Of course, not all variants of installing the NetBeans software on Fedora platform are explained above.

At least there is a most flexible way to get "the only IDE you need". This way is to build the IDE from the sources on your Fedora box.

The way is flexible, because you may also fix ALL the bugs in these sources. :-)

BTW, seriously, if you'll do so then, please, do not forget to attach resulting patches to the corresponding bug reports filed in the NetBeans' issue tracker.
