I can't successfully run the g++ compiler to configure the built-in source file parser. What can I do?

To let the NetBeans IDE find the compilers:

  • Make sure g++ is in your path.
  • Choose Tools > Options, click the C/C++ icon, and select the Build Tools tab.
  • Click Restore Defaults to have the IDE rescan your environment to find the tools.

Note that if you restart the IDE, the tools on your path will be found as well.

For information on installing Cygwin or MinGW compilers and tools, see http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/67/cpp-setup-instructions.html.

Applies to NetBeans 6.1 and later
