FaqFormDistributingAbsoluteLayout

Can I distribute NetBeans layout libraries with my application?

Answer: Yes.

NetBeans IDE bundles Swing Layout Extensions library (containing GroupLayout ), and also its own special layout manager called AbsoluteLayout. The libraries are automatically used by the IDE as needed. When you build your project, the JARs of libraries used in the project appear under the dist/lib directory of the project. You can simply pack the whole dist folder and have everything you need to distribute your application.

Side note: Matisse GUI builder uses the GroupLayout by default. AbsoluteLayout is kept only for historical reasons and is not recommended to be used for production UI.
