Does NetBeans support bi-directional text?

Bi-directional text (for languages written from right to left, such as arabic, hebrew) is not fully supported yet. We are working on improving this for release 6.0.

Swing does have bidi support in general, but there may still be bugs in the IDE and platform affecting RTL (right-to-left writing). You can help us improve bidi text support: File any bugs encountered during localization or in the platform or the IDE under the keyword 'I18N'.
