Why did the NetBeans installation finish successfully but not install NetBeans on Vista?:

You must turn off User Account Control to install NetBeans on Vista. You will not get an error message but nothing is installed. To turn off UAC, go to Control Panel/ User Accounts/ Turn User account Control On or Off. Then, run the install. You will need to delete the .netbeans directories under your \Users\username folder and delete the netbeans directory under Program Files, before running the install again. If you installed TomCat and/or Glassfish, remember to first uninstall them using Control Panel/ Programs and Features.
